First bargaining session

This Friday, February 10th, the negotiating committee will sit down with the College administration for our initial bargaining session. The session will take place at 2:30PM in Ladd 207. This session will take place in person, though we hope to be able to provide Zoom access for future sessions. Those planning to attend should RSVP to negotiating committee member Ruth McAdams at rmcadams at skidmore dot edu.

The negotiating committee will make a brief presentation to the administration laying out the goals identified by both bargaining units as negotiation priorities; these include improving compensation and benefits for part-time faculty and increasing job security and guaranteeing benefits for full-time members. While the specific details of these improvements will be negotiated at future sessions, this is our opportunity to show the administration our shared vision for a better Skidmore for all NTT faculty.

If you’re interested in learning more about the negotiation committee’s work or sitting in on a bargaining session, all those are open to unit members. The next negotiation committee meeting will be on Friday, February 24th at 10AM on Zoom; those interested in attending can reach out to a negotiating committee member for details.

In solidarity,
The Negotiating Committee
